Configuration and Administration in Generate Enterprise
Generate Enterprise gives administrators full control over the platform and gives users control over their personal settings. Administrators manage users and teams, toggle features on or off, set permissions across the organization, and configure storage and backups. Users belong to workspaces and manage their own profile, appearance, notifications, and account security.
What is a workspace in Generate?
Section titled “What is a workspace in Generate?”A workspace is the organizational container users belong to in Generate Enterprise, with its own knowledge, permissions, and configuration. Generate is multi-workspace: separate teams can each have their own workspace so that knowledge and settings stay isolated between them. Users can switch between the workspaces they belong to.
What can administrators configure in Generate?
Section titled “What can administrators configure in Generate?”Administrators work from the Admin panel and can:
- Manage users — add, review, and control user accounts across the organization.
- Manage teams — organize users into teams and control team membership.
- Configure features — toggle platform features on or off for the organization.
- Set permissions — control access across the organization.
- Connect storage and configure backups — manage where documents are indexed and how indexed data is protected.
Administrator functions require administrator privileges and are separate from personal account settings.
How do you manage users and teams in Generate?
Section titled “How do you manage users and teams in Generate?”Administrators manage individual accounts through user management and group users through team management. Teams can also be populated automatically by mapping identity-provider groups to Generate teams when SSO is configured. This keeps membership aligned with the organization’s existing structure.
What is feature configuration in Generate?
Section titled “What is feature configuration in Generate?”Feature configuration lets administrators turn specific Generate features on or off for the organization. This gives IT control over which capabilities are available to users, so the platform can be tailored to organizational policy and rollout plans.
What personal settings can users manage?
Section titled “What personal settings can users manage?”Users manage their own account, including profile and preferences, theme and appearance, notifications, and account security and privacy. Users can also switch between the workspaces they belong to and use Generate’s mobile experience.
